It is crazy what a positive attitude can do. Too many times I get wrapped up in the negative and forget to look at the beauty surrounding me. Yes, I have shitty situations in my life that, most of the time, do not make sense at all, but there is still beauty in the midst… it’s just having the courage to look at that as opposed to focusing on how terrible the situation may be.

Now, I understand that there are other atrocities that are happening in the world… and don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that one life is more valuable than the other, but it is not okay to disregard what happened this past Monday. I do not think many Californians understand how important the Boston marathon is… and I cannot begin to explain how difficult it is to be surrounded by people who choose to make idiotic statements in regards to it. And yes, I understand that people all around the world face tragedies, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t acknowledge what happened. It is not okay that this happened here, let alone anywhere else.
